Write on.

We’ve started thinking about summer plans, which of course are never simple, despite my resolution each fall to make the following summer a bit more manageable.  The latest development is that the other day I was accepted to be part of the Appalachian Writing Project’s Summer Institute, which is part of the National Writing Project.  I’ve been on the fence about doing the AWP simply because it cuts up the summer, but professionally and personally  it’s an incredible opportunity.  Sure, I could turn it down in exchange for time at the lake, and believe you me, that is a temptation, but I’m not going to.   This is something I’ve been wanting to do for several years, but “time at the lake” has always won the debate.  Not this summer, though.  Despite the complicated planning and possible several weeks separation from the girls, it’s going to work out and it’s going to be excellent.  Can’t wait to get started, really. Cannot wait.
